COOSHA’s CEO & Co-Founder to act as an ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy’s Peel Region Walk.
Words from our very own CEO & Co-Founder
Hello friends and family. Over a year ago my father Serif Kendic was diagnosed with a rare muscular degenerative disease called Inclusion-body Myositis. He’s gone from ballroom dancing three nights a week to a walker overnight. Sadly there is no cure. Eventually, he will be wheelchair bound.
This has been a tough blow to the family. My father struggles daily with the inability to do things he was use to doing. That being said, we Kendic’s are a resilient group. We’ve always found a way to bring humour into a negative circumstance. Those that know us best can confirm that.
On June 3rd, Serif Kendic and myself have been asked to be the ambassadors for the Muscular Dystrophy Peel Region Walk. This organization has gone above and beyond to help our family with this difficult disease and the transition into a new life for our father Serif Kendic. We are honoured with the task of speaking at the event and giving the green light to start the walk.
For those of you interested we would love for you to join us to support this incredible organization. If you can’t make it, please donate to help with the cause. I’m registered under Team Kendic
Thank you for taking the time to read 😊. God bless 🙏
Amir Kendic is hosting this event and will be there to greet you at the walk!
I decided to get involved with the Walk for Muscular Dystrophy to show support for a cause that has helped my father. My father, Serif, was diagnosed at age 74.
This will be my first time at the Walk and I’m looking forward to meeting others that have a reason for taking part. I’m sure my dad will also feel a lot of support from our family and community. I want people to know how important of a cause this is and how blessed all of us are that can take part. One thing I am looking forward to at the Walk is seeing those impacted by neuromuscular disorders still smiling and not letting it get the better of them.
This year, I am walking for my dad, Serif Kendic.
